- Very high alcohol yields

Beluga is a leading soft Group 4 wheat with impressive yields of 103%, 5% above long term favourite Alchemy. Beluga performs well in all regions, on all soil types and as a first or second wheat. With its excellent disease resistance and superb straw characteristics, it will fit into any arable rotation.
As a soft Group 4 wheat Beluga is suitable for feed and for both distilling and bioethanol production, where it has been rated as good. Beluga has performed well both north and south, and tests have
demonstrated the variety’s ability to deliver very high alcohol yields. With the expected expansion in bioethanol production, Beluga will appeal to growers contemplating bioethanol contracts.
