Now Crusoe is fully recommended, it offers a significant agronomic advantage over established Group 1s. Warburtons requirement of 12.5% protein or above is lower than for established Group 1s. Quality is consistently achieved and yields can be driven hard with less risk of protein dilution.

Crusoe has a prostrate winter growth habit with a medium tillering capacity. In the spring, it becomes semi-erect and develops rapidly and moves through stem extension quickly. It is a short, stiff-strawed variety and is slightly later to ripen than other milling varieties.
