REVIEW:

consistent is the only word to describe this variety...
it performs is every situation...first wheat, second wheat, heavy land, light land...perhaps not suited for real late drilling after root crops as there are better options.
standing power is reasonable although it is tall so still needs a robust PGR especially on fertile sites.
It has no major weaknesses in terms of disease control so timing is not as critical as some variety however it would be stupid to scrimp on inputs
if you want a variety that may not break records but will consistently perform this is the one for you

  Our 1st Wheat Choice

  REVIEW:

  Like everything else this didn’t do too well for us back in 2012 but this year yielded 9.4T so we were pleased with that and all the early-planted 1st wheat for next season is Diego. We are hoping for higher yields from this variety in 2014.

  Great 2nd Wheat

  REVIEW:

  We use Diego as a 2nd wheat and whilst it is not considered the highest yielder, we have found it similar to Viscount and without major problems.
  
  We don’t get Brown Rust in the Borders so don’t have to worry about that susceptibility.
  
  Overall it’s not the best but doesn’t let us down and yields are usually just above average.

  We have been growing this for 2 years now and are pleased with it, not the highest yield from this years crop but simialr results as the last few years.
  
  This year seem to have the highest specific weights. So in general a good allrounder

  Been growing this for 4 years now and very pleased with it, not the highest yielder on the farm but not far off it though.
  
  We've used it an all situations, 1st,2nd and 3rd wheats, early (ish) and late drilled slots and performs very well in all conditions.
  
  Last year it had the highest Specific Weights and had the highest average yield over all varieties.
  
  Good disease profile and no particular problems with rust, etc.
  
  A very good all-rounder that won't let you down
