Zircon has a whiter grain coating, making it ideal for end markets such as breakfast cereals. Zircon has a wide range of potential applications. Its excellent quality characteristics are recognised by millers across the UK as a high grade milling wheat.

Sowing Dates

Recommended – Mid October

Latest – Mid April

Seed Rates

Completely depends on sowing date, these varieties can be sown from mid October onward. Seed rates would be as you would winter wheat, these are all vigorous tillerers, SR 350—450 as time passes and seed beds dictate

Growth Habits

Zircon has an excellent overall disease resistance and very stiff straws. These factors combined produce a high value product that benefits growers and end users alike
